Harsh winds can turn your facial skin dry and rough. It does not only happen during the frigid days of winter but also during the warm days of summer. People may go outdoors during summer months and feel the effects of the harsh sun and arid winds.
The solution, of course, is to keep your facial skin moist. Hydrating your skin is the best anti-aging treatment. One way to do this is with a face mask that restores your skin to its original, radiant state. A hydrating mask will make your skin look smooth, refreshed, and youthful.
The following are some of the homemade hydrating face masks you can prepare:
- Avocado, egg white, and lime juice facial mask – This mask works best for oily skin. Start with an avocado. The reason for oily skin is an underlying dehydration of the skin below the surface. Boosting the production of moisture will help normalize the production of sebum, the skin’s natural lubricating oil. To prepare the mask, peel the fruit and remove its pit. Mash the avocado and combine with one egg white and one tablespoon of fresh lime juice. Stir everything in a small wooden bowl until you produce a fine, smooth paste. Apply the paste to your face after making sure your face is clean. Massage the paste onto your entire face and neck using your fingertips. Let the paste stay for about 25 minutes before rinsing it off with lukewarm water.
- Aloe vera and orange juice facial mask – Aloe vera has strong hydrating properties. A mixture of aloe vera and orange juice can absorb excess sebum from the skin and provide it with a lovely matte finish. Prepare the facial mask by starting with a tablespoon of freshly squeezed orange juice and a tablespoon of aloe vera juice. Mix the ingredients in a small bowl using a wooden spoon. First, cleanse your face and then massage the paste onto the entire surface of your face and neck using your fingertips. Avoid the eye area. Leave a layer of the paste on your facial skin for about 20 minutes to let the paste work its wonders. Rinse the paste off with lukewarm water. Use this facial mask once or twice a week, depending on the condition of your skin.
Using a homemade facial mask will help your skin look healthier and younger. And best of all, it will work naturally, without harmful chemicals that could dry out your skin or cause allergic reactions.
